Come and join us for Celtic Christian Worship
Sunday, August 27, 2006 at 10:30a.m. Music begins at 10:00a.m.
Held at the Performing Arts on the grounds of Erin Feis
Sponsored and led by Rev. Anna C. Saxon and members of Westminster Presbyterian Church,1420 W. Moss Ave., Peoria, IL.
Westminster Church has been holding Celtic Vesper services on Sunday evenings for over 2 years.
The service is based on liturgy resources and music of the Iona Community in Scotland and the Northumbria Community in England.
The services are planned and led by members of the community along with the pastors.
In our worship, we focus on: the importance of community, the interconnectedness of all of life,
the positive nature of humanity having been created in the image of God, our responsibility for our environment,
being faithful disciples of Jesus Christ in and for the world – particularly in the areas of justice and peace.
In our worship at Erin Feis we will be concluding a Six-Week series entitled: Waymarks: Celtic Saints as Signposts along the Journey of Faith.
Fittingly, we will focus on Saint Columba.
An Irishman of noble birth who chose monastic life and who founded the abbey at Iona, Scotland.
