St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Our 37th St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off on Thursday March 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the corners of Monroe and Hancock Streets.  Download your applications materials here.

Fees for the Parade are as follows:

  • No Fee for Bands, United States Military or United States Veterans Groups, Schools (State recognized educational units), or Scout Units
  • $15 Fee Per Unit for Antique Cars, Custom Vehicles, or Motor Cycle Units -- no group rates,/br> $15 Fee for Individual Unit
  • $30 Fee for Family Unit ($20 Fee if applicant has paid 2016 St. Patrick Society Membership Card)
  • $30 Fee for Organization Unit
  • $100 Fee for Business Unit ($75 Fee if applicant has paid 2016 St. Patrick Society Membership Card)
  • $100 Fee for Political Unit ($75 Fee if applicant has paid 2016 St. Patrick Society Membership Card).

All Parade Fee Checks are to be made payable to the St. Patrick Society.

A completed 2017 Parade Application Form, a signed 2017 Parade Waiver Form, and 2017 Parade Fee must be postmarked by March 4, 2017 to guarantee a position in the Parade. These completed materials should be mailed to:  St. Patrick Society of Peoria, Attn: Parade Chair, P O Box 117, Peoria IL 61650.

First Place, Second Place, and Third Place Certificate Awards are given in the Business, Family, and Organization Categories. The judges will use the following criteria to award points:  Theme, Presentation/Attractiveness, Workmanship/Craftsmanship, & Originality/Creativity.  The Awards will be presented to the winners during the afternoon St. Patrick’s Day Party.

The 2017 Parade Route is as follows: Monroe Street to Main Street, Main Street to Water Street, Water Street to Hamilton Boulevard. Parade vehicles will be directed to proceed across the intersection of Hamilton and Water Street to let their participants be dropped-off to proceed to the St. Patrick’s Day Party being held at the Gateway Building on the Peoria RiverFront.

Parade vehicles will be directed to park along Water Street under the Bridge or directed to proceed North on Water Street to make a right turn on Eaton Street and then to make a right turn onto the roadway at the North Entrance to Festival Park.

We will have volunteer block captains (recognizable by their safety vests) helping to direct traffic. Please follow their instructions to help the parade entries behind you continue to flow smoothly!
