St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Our 36th St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off on Thursday March 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the corners of Monroe and Hancock Streets.  Download your applications materials here.

Fees for the Parade are as follows:

  • No Fee for Bands, United States Military or United States Veterans Groups, Schools (State recognized educational units), or Scout Units
  • $15 Fee Per Unit for Antique Cars, Custom Vehicles, or Motor Cycle Units -- no group rates,/br> $15 Fee for Individual Unit
  • $30 Fee for Family Unit ($20 Fee if applicant has paid 2016 St. Patrick Society Membership Card)
  • $30 Fee for Organization Unit
  • $100 Fee for Business Unit ($75 Fee if applicant has paid 2016 St. Patrick Society Membership Card)
  • $100 Fee for Political Unit ($75 Fee if applicant has paid 2016 St. Patrick Society Membership Card).

All Parade Fee Checks are to be made payable to the St. Patrick Society.

A completed 2016 Parade Application Form, a signed 2016 Parade Waiver Form, and 2016 Parade Fee must be postmarked by March 4, 2016 to guarantee a position in the Parade. These completed materials should be mailed to:  St. Patrick Society of Peoria, Attn: Parade Chair, P O Box 117, Peoria IL 61650.

First Place, Second Place, and Third Place Certificate Awards are given in the Business, Family, and Organization Categories. The judges will use the following criteria to award points:  Theme, Presentation/Attractiveness, Workmanship/Craftsmanship, & Originality/Creativity.  The Awards will be presented to the winners during the afternoon St. Patrick’s Day Party in  the 2nd Floor Meeting Room 220 at the Peoria Civic Center.

The 2016 Parade Route is as follows:  (A) Starts at corner of Monroe & Hancock Streets, (B) Proceeds down Monroe Street to Main Street, (C) Left turn onto Main Street and proceeds down Main Street to Jefferson Street, (D) Right turn onto Jefferson Street and proceeds to Fulton Street, (E) Right turn onto Fulton Street and proceeds up Fulton Street to Peoria Civic Center Theatre Entry Doors, (F) Parade ends at the Peoria Civic Center.

Parade vehicles will be permitted to cross Monroe Street to enter the Peoria Civic Center Parking Lot or they will be permitted to turn left from Fulton Street onto Monroe Street to proceed to Kumpf Boulevard.  No parade vehicles will be permitted to turn right from Fulton Street onto Monroe Street.
